The West Perth Thames Nature Trail is a great destination for walking, jogging, dog-walking, bird-watching and photography.  Here, 65 acres of wetlands are filled with rare species of birds and wildlife offering nature lovers great opportunities for bird watching and photography.  The Wetlands project involves the reclamation of three decommissioned sewage lagoons that served the Town of Mitchell prior to installation of the present sewage treatment plant.  These lagoons will be restored to a natural state as wetlands and shorebird habitat. The area encompassed is approximately 24ha. or 65 acres.
